Prerequisiti

Students must have reached the A2 level of Italian language knowledge, as established by the CEFR.

Those who have not reached this level are strongly encouraged to attend the Italian courses held by CLA and to take part in a tandem language exchange, if possible.

Obiettivi del corso

The course aims to develop the students' pluricultural competence by giving them the tools to understand Italian culture and to communicate effectively with Italian speakers in everyday situations.

Programma del corso

During the course, students will:

  • analyse from an intercultural point of view the cultural and linguistic misunderstandings covered in the textbook "Davvero italiano - vivere e pensare all'italiana" by Pegoraro and Paccagnella
  • develop their communicative and lexical-semantic competencies in Italian: the textbook that will be used during the course is "Nuovo contatto B1".The recommended grammar (GP Grammatica Pratica della lingua italiana A1-C1 for English speakers) can be used for individual study
  • practice their pluricultural competence by reading, mediating and elaborating on authentic texts ("Italian lessons" by Severgnini, newspaper articles, videos, songs) that show other nuances of the Italian culture and everyday life
