- Obiettivi formativi
At the end of the course students should be able to grasp how financial markets work in everyday's life. The link between theories and reality is carefully investigated during the lessons and the seminars that students may give, if they decide to do so. This is particularly relevant in our times, in which frequent and painful financial crises do occur.
- Programma del corso
1)Description of the evolution of the markets and of financial instruments in the last decade.
2)examples to understand why certain financial derivatives have been used in the past and the consequences of their use for financial and macroeocnomci stability.
3) the debate on the causes of recent financial crises.
4) proposals of reform of regulation and of the international monetary system

The program consists of parts of reports (like for example the Financial Stability Report by the International Monetary Fund) which describe the evolution of financial crises, and of a selection ( by the student) of essays on the themes of the course, namely financial crises and proposals of reforms. The list of essays, among which a choice must be made, will be distributed during the lessons.
