  Scopo del corso è offrire un approfondimento del poema lungo americano quale genere letterario con forte impegno sociale e, tramite il lavoro comune, di fornire agli studenti gli strumenti di base per una ricerca bibliografica autonoma.

  Main purpose of this class is to provide an in-depth reading of the American long poem as a socially relevant literary genre.

  The Long Poem in American Literature.
  
  The course will focus on the Modernist Long poem as a distinct literary genre in the American tradition, and on its post-modernist transformations.
