It is recommended to having passed the Private Law exam.
The Maritime Law course aims to deal with the legal aspects of shipping activities from the mostly used perspective at international leve, the common law one.
The course should ensure the emerging of skills and knowledge base demanded in the shipping industry.
The course is focused on the following subjects:
- The conflict of laws;
- Shipbuiding, Sale, Finance and Registration;
- International trade and Shipping Documents;
- Charterparties;
- Cargo claims and Bill of lading;
- Carriage of passengers;
- The liabilities of the vessel;
- Marine pollution;
- Marine insurance;
- Procedures for Enforcement.

- The course will be held through on-line platform according to Law Faculty provisions. It will be implemented by the study of cases law, contracts texts, documents and law texts as well. Whether possible, discussions with maritime operators or professionals will be introduced as well as cooperation among students in dealing with specific subjects. Specific materials and texts on particular topics will be suggested during classes.
- Final examination will be oral and it will focus on the whole program.
The assessment will aim at verifying the comprehension and the depht of the knowledge gained about the different topics of Maritime law, the property of legal and technical language, the critical and methodological skills acquired by the students.
