Aptitudes for individual and group working. Capability of using personal observation. Use of online maps and atlas.
The course aims at providing principles of geographical theory and tools for understanding landscape and environment reality at global, regional and local scales. Focus is put on political agreements on sustainable development, and sustainable tourism. Students will acquire knowledge and skills for promoting tourist destinations through culture, landscape identities and environmental qualities.
Concepts and definitions of landscape and environment;
Nature and humankind;
Geography of socioeconomic development;
Causes of environmental degradation and necessity of protection;
International Agreements on Sustainability and Sustainable Tourism, Global and Local;
Regional landscapes: Europe, Italy, other Places of coming students;
Tourist Regions and Tourism destinations;
Representation of tourist spaces and places.

- Small and Medium Group Work and Exercises;
- Audio-video Attendance;
- Performing of a Case Study on Landscape and Environment;
- Featuring of a Presentation on an Argument of Tourism and Sustainable Tourism
- Two in itinere tests. A not structured test (writing a report on a Case Study). An
individual or per group presentation (using a PPT) of a Case Study. The grade per
each test will contribute to the final mark, which is the average of partial results. The
Final Oral Test is reserved to the students who didn't receive a sufficient grade
in the in itinere tests or missed one of them.
