B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

Obiettivi del corso

By the end of the course, the student will be able to: 1) strengthen the 4 essential
skills in foreign language acquisition (reading, writing, listening, speaking), specific to
the field of International Tourism in the intermediate to upper-intermediate (B1-B2)
level; 2) communicate in Business English, specific to areas of human resources,
marketing and branding, leadership and management, cultural awareness; 3) deepen
his/her knowledge in British and American culture.

Programma del corso

International Tourism: Vocabulary and conversational/technical phrases in marketing,
designing tours, dealing with customer complaints, improving customer service,
business travel, niche and cultural tourism, tourism trends, tourism and the
environment, tourism and technology, and Business English, specific to areas of
human resources, branding and marketing, leadership and management, cultural
awareness, etc.
English Language: B1-B1+ grammar points - modal verbs, articles,
conditional structures, multi-word verbs, tense review, past perfect, question forms;
Progression to B2 - continuous forms, making predictions, and pronunciation,
conditionals, etc.
English Culture: American and British culture - work culture, political system, key
historical events, and economy.
