Basic requirements to access the lessons are:
- Knowledge of the European institutional, social and economic context;
- Knowledge of the role of EU development policies;
- Knowledge of the role of EU cooperation policies;
- Competencies in team working and public speaking.
The participation will be easier for the students having experienced multilingual
and multicultural contexts thanks to university exchange programmes or other
personal opportunities. The exercises will demonstrate the necessity to cooperate, in
order to achieve a common result, with people who are different in terms of language
and culture.

Obiettivi del corso

The objective of the course is to provide the students with the Project Cycle
Management Tools, on the basis of the European commission's conceptualisation
related to the International Development Cooperation.

Expected results: students should demonstrate the capacity to draft a project proposal and to use
the basic tools of the project cycle management approach (i.e. logical framework;
problem/objective tree)

Programma del corso

The applied course (4 cfu) is part of the course on Project cycle management for international
development cooperation (8 cfu in total)

The course is focused on the formulation, management and communication
tools belonging to Project Cycle Management. The managerial competencies, which
are necessary to coordinate European projects, are also highlighted.
The following tools are presented: SWOT analysis, stakeholder analysis, problem
analysis, objective tree, logical framework, Gantt chart.

The programme of the lessons follows:
- Presentation of the "Project Management" course: summary of the issues,
- Project approach, Project Cycle Management with emphasis on
Formulation and Implementation phases.
- The Logical Framework approach: Logframe matrix.
- Planning and scheduling project's activities
- Focus on communication: tools and solutions for project dissemination and
