Basic knowledge of microeconomics and macroeconomics
The aim of the course is to allow the students to appreciate the goals and tools of economic policy. Emphasis is on macroeconomics and development. Students should be able to understand the theoretical, technical and value-related accounts underlying the pursuit of specific goals.

Lecture-style instruction. The content is theoretical with references to the current situation.
The aim of the oral exam is to ascertain the student's knowledge of the theoretical concepts required for macroeconomic and development policy.
The questions aim to ascertain: a) the knowledge and comprehension of the material listed in the syllabus (1/2 of total assessment); b) the ability to use the acquired knowledge to interpret today's issues (1/2 of total assessment).
