I hold a Ph.D. in Intercultural Philosophy from the University of Urbino (Italy) with a thesis about Orientalism in modern Europe with a focus on the image of China and India within the Histories of Philosophy from late 16th to early 18th centuries. I also hold an MA in Asian Languages (Chinese and Sanskrit) from the University of Bologna, and an MPhil in the History of Philosophy from the University of Macerata (Italy), I was an Erasmus visiting student in France at the University of Paris IV-Sorbonne (MA Philosophie comparée). I studied at the East China Normal University in Shanghai 华师范大学.

My areas of expertise are: 1. Contemporary Literary criticism (i.e. Yan Lianke); 2. Contemporary New Confucianism in comparative perspective (i.e. Mou Zongsan); 3. History of Early Orientalism.


Since the academic year 2014-15, I am in charge of courses related to Chinese Thought, Chinese Literature and Chinese Language.
I am a member of the board of EACP (European Association of Chinese Philosophy). I am also a member of EACS (European Association of Chinese Studies), SACP (Society for Asian and Comparative Philosophy), and AISC (Associazione Italiana di Studi Cinesi).
