Obiettivi del corso

The aim of the course is to provide students with a comprehensive framework for understanding typologies and potentials of the educational tourism sector, analysed from both the perspective of formal- and informal-education.
The different areas of edu-tourism will be explored in order to identify the educational-touristic potentials of a territory linked to its tangible/intangible cultural resources.




Programma del corso

Typologies of educational tourism: tourism for schools and students; cultural tourism; ecotourism; experiential learning oriented tourism for adults and seniors.

Further teaching material will be provided during the lessons.

Metodi didattici
  • Lectures will alternate with group exercises. Group exercises will be focused on the planning of a domestic day trip (e.g. for schools, families, seniors, associations etc.) able to promote tourism in the area and, at the same time, to meet the different learning needs of each target. For this purpose, some lessons will take place at the "Paolo and Ornella Ricca" School Museum of the University of Macerata.
    The delivery and teaching methodologies may vary following the ministerial provisions regarding the health emergency.
Modalità di valutazione
  • The final oral examination will consist in the presentation and discussion of the material produced during the workshop activities. The learning outcomes will be evaluated (for a maximum of 30/30 marks) by the following criteria: correctness and completeness of the acquired knowledge (up to 10 marks) ; communication skills (up to 10 marks); critical elaboration and problem-solving (up to 10 marks).
