Basic requirements to access the lessons are:
- Knowledge of the European institutional, social and economic context;
- Competencies in team working and public speaking.
The participation will be easier for students having experienced multilingual
and multicultural contexts thanks to university exchange programmes or other
personal opportunities. The exercises will demonstrate the necessity to cooperate, in
order to achieve a common result, with people who are different in terms of language
and culture.
The objective of the course is to provide the students with a general vision of
Project Cycle Management, with particular regard to the 'Identification',
'Programming', and 'Monitoring and Evaluation" phases. As expected results of the course the students will have the theoretical background to read and design a project.
The course focuses on project cycle management and its key features, such as the Logical Framework and Project Cycle. The project draws on international experience, both in international development cooperation and European internal policies (Cohesion Policy, CAP). The program of the lessons is as follows:
- Presentation of the course: summary of the issues, bibliography
- Programming phase: link between policies and programs:
- Identification Phase: needs assessment
- Formulation Phase: Logical Framework and Indicators
- Implementation Phase: financial sustainability and delivery tools
- Evaluation Phase: relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, sustainability, coherence, and impact assessment.
The lectures will alternate between frontal teaching and practical exercises, as well as group work.
