B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The course aims to provide the students with a preparation of the English language at level B2, with a wide knowledge of the specific vocabulary of tourism and the ability to develop the four essential skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) to have the necessary expertise to be confident in the practice of communication within the context of International Tourism.
Through role plays, exercises and case studies, students will be able to use the English language to work internationally in the management of tourism and tourist destination.
1. GRAMMATICA
Review of the main grammatical structures of the English language to reinforce the
level B1 towards level B2.
2. PROGRAMMA:
- A brief history of travel and tourism
- The invention of tourism: development and future
- The tourism sectors: tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, shipping lines
- The hospitality industry: hotels, B&Bs, holiday farms
- How to organize a journey and develop a destination: package tours, group travels, flights, brochures
- Bookings
- Job prospects in the tourism sector, CV, job interview
- Big events and marketing
- The promotion of the Marche region
