Prerequisiti

A basic working knowledge of accounting is assumed. Students should be familiar with general bookkeeping procedures, journal entries, T-accounts and the debit/credit system, as well as the process of compiling income statements and balance sheets.


Obiettivi del corso

The central objective is to develop students’ ability to read and work with financial reports prepared according to generally accepted accounting principles, particularly ITA GAAP. Compared to introductory accounting courses, Economia Aziendale and Ragioneria, l (which all students should have taken), the course puts more emphasis on advanced topics, on the use of financial report content from practice, and on the relevance of technical details and footnote disclosures to well-informed and meaningful financial statement analysis. To sum up, the goal is toprovide students with the basic elements of the economic and financial analysis of companies. Morover, an introduction to bankruptcy prediction models and earnings management detection tools and techniques will be presented.

Programma del corso

Financial statement analysis following a prescribed routine with standard financial ratios.

The aim of this course is to give participants a thorough introduction to bankruptcy prediction models and earnings management detection tools and techniques.
