Cristina Davino

Dr Davino had her PhD degree in 1998 at University Federico II of Naples, Department of Mathematics and Statistics (Italy). She discussed a thesis concerning the synergy between Statistics and Neural Networks. In the aftermath she increased her research on the topic broadened to the data mining framework. After three years of post-doctoral fellowship, in 2004 she got a position as associate professor of Statistics. In the last six years Dr Davino research concentrates on new topics represented by composite indicators and quantile regression. Since 1998, her career has been characterized by a constant research activity where the publications on international journals have always been placed side by side to the participation to conferences and seminars. Both the research and the teaching activity have been characterized by a strong attitude towards the application of statistical methodologies to real applicative contexts.

She has now 9 published and 3 forthcoming papers in internationally journals like Social Indicators Research, Food Quality and Preference, Computational Statistics, Journal of Visual Languages and Computing, Statistica, Italian Journal of Applied Statistics and 6 papers in books edited by international editors such as Springer. A monograph been published by Wiley on November 2013. With respect to presenting research work in conferences and invited seminars, Dr Davino has been active thorough her career participating to 35 conferences with paper presentation.

Dr Davino has major accomplishments regarding the post-analysis of association rules, a statistical approach to neural networks, the use of quantile regression for the evaluation of university educational processes and the validation of composite indicators.
