Basic knowledge of Public law or Constitutional law or International law
The course aims to develop the students knowledge and understanding on global environmental issues and on the interactions between international, European and national laws.
Students are expected to be able to understand and discuss global environmental
issues and how global environmental law impacts on both international trade and human rights.
The course will cover a range of general issues including:
- The concept of global environmental law
- The development of global environmental law
- The development of EU environmental law
- Multilevel environmental governance
- Sources of global environmental law
- Principles of global environmental law
- Enforcement of global environmental law
- Trade and environment
- Human rights and environment

Attending students: additional reading materials will be given during classes

Lectures and seminars.
Seminars will focus on specific case law.
- Written examination with both multiple-choice and open questions.
Students regularly attending the Course will have the opportunity of intermediate assessments, based on both multiple-choice and open questions and on the discussion of cases related to the main topics of the Course.
