Prof. Ermanno Calzolaio is full professor of Private Comparative Law since 2006. Dean (Director) of the Department of Law of the University of Macerata from July 2012 to October 2018. Visiting Professor at the Faculté de Droit de Paris 2 (Assas) in 2023, at the Faculté de Droit of the University of Orléans (France) (2013-2024); at the Law School of the Murdoch University (Perth-Australia) where he taught Comparative Law and Comparative Contract Law (2007, 2011, 2016); at the Law School of the Beijing Normal University (Pekin - China) where he taught Comparative Law (2015); at the University of Lund (Sweden) in 2016 and at the Shanghai University of Political Sciences and Law (2017 and 2022). Member of the Board of the Italian Association of Comparative Law (AIDC) and of the International Academy of Comparative Law. Member of the Italian Evaluation Board of researches in law (Anvur, VQR 2015-2019), at the moment he is the Coordinator of the Italian Evaluation Board for Law (Anvur, 2020-2024). Coordinator of the Department of Excellence financed by the Italian Ministry for University (MUR) 2023-2027, on "Innovation and Vulnerability: legal issues and remedies". His main research interests concern the comparison civil law-common law, with special regard to the role of precedent, property, contract law and succession law, legal issues of new tecnologies (data, cryptocurrencies, NFT). He participates to research projects financed by the EU. He is author of many publications (see list), among which a book edited by Routledge "Comparative Contract Law: An Introduction" (2022).
