Basic knowledge of European history.
Learning about the fundamental features of the historical development of European cities in order to build a body of useful knowledge to enhance tourism.
This first module of the course (mod. 1) explores the key features of European urban history from the Middle Ages to the present day. It is grounded in a political, economic, social and cultural analysis of urbanisation within various geographical contexts. Specific cases are studied to highlight methods and conceptualisations of urban history. This module aims to prepare students to develop tourist projects that promote the historical and cultural heritage of European cities.

The teaching is structured around PowerPoint presentations with a video projector. These aim to introduce and analyse the main phenomena relating to each historical period.
Oral interview in English.
Assessment criteria:
Module 1: knowledge of the main characteristics of urbanization in European history (2/3 of the overall assessment);
Module 2: Quality of the student's activities (1/3 of the overall assessment).
