No prerequisites in educational field are required.
1.Knowledge and understanding:
Students will acquire knowledge of the aims and objectives of heritage interpretation;
2. Applying knowledge and understanding:
they be able to apply interpretive techniques in the design and delivery of interpretive products and services;
3. Making judgements:
students will develop independent judgement in the design of interpretive services and products for different audiences;
4. Communication Skills:
students will be able to apply the interpretive style to transform the one-way communication model of the traditional guided tour into a learning experience based on the conversational approach;
5. Learning skills:
students will develop the skills necessary to manage their own lifelong learning and professional development in heritage interpretation.

Handouts and practice materials will be distributed during the lectures.

Lectures will alternate with interactive lessons and group exercises focused on the analysis of case studies and/or good practices, with the aim of applying and consolidating the design and performance methodologies acquired. To this end, some of the lessons and exercises may take place in the School Museum of the University of Macerata.
The final examination consist of designing and producing a written interpretive text focusing on a local heritage resource. The overall evaluation (out of a maximum of 30/30 marks) will be based on the following indicators:
1) understanding of the knowledge acquired (up to 6 marks);
2) correct application of acquired concepts and methods (up to 6 marks);
3) autonomy of judgement and critical thinking (up to 6 marks);
4) communication skills in writing/presenting materials (up to 6 marks);
5) ability to understand one's own training needs and ongoing professional development in the field of heritage interpretation (up to 6 marks).
