Lovato Martino
Dr. Lovato received his PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Texas at Austin. His expertise is in Italian, French/Francophone, and Arabic literature and cinema. He taught in several universities in the USA and Italy. He served the departments and programs of Classics and Italian, Romance Languages, and Asian Studies (Arabic) at Mount Holyoke College (Massachusetts). At the University of Macerata, Dr. Lovato teaches the second year course on late-medieval Arabic literature and the first segment of literary translation for the master degree, bringing into the classroom his interdisciplinary expertise.
His publications appear, among others, in the California Journal of Italian Studies and The Cambridge Companion of Slavery and Global Literature. His first book project focuses on literature and cinema in the contemporary Mediterranean. Dr. Lovato also coordinated an EU-funded Erasmus+ project on ecology in primary school education, and participates as facilitator and speaker at the Middle Eastern Mediterranean Summit and Forum (MEM) in Lugano (Switzerland).
