The course objectives concern the learning of:
- Listening and feedback skills
- Context analysis tools
- Guidelines and communication skills for public speaking
- Leadership and cooperation skills
- Self-analysis skills in plural situations
- Message construction techniques
During the course, students will learn the key concepts of public speaking in relation to complex social contexts. The in-depth study of how to communicate in public will enable participants to critically evaluate situations, enhance their skills and aptitudes and consolidate processes of self-assessment and awareness.
The participants will practice listening, context analysis, individual and small group expressiveness, as well as posture in situations and feedback dynamics, enhancing the cooperative approach and deepening the value of leadership. Through a workshop approach, different message-building techniques will be experimented, also starting from case analyses.

The course and examination syllabuses coincide: it is therefore specified that the syllabus indicated is valid for attending and non-attending students. During the course, working materials (slides, audiovisual materials, technical-operational tools, etc.) will be provided for the exercises.

The following teaching methods are envisaged during the course
dialogued frontal lectures
group exercises and plenary sharing;
case analyses (audio-video materials);
individual presentations
The final examination is oral and consists of a 10-12 minute talk.
The topic of the presentation is the student's choice and, during the public speaking session, at least 3 of the strategies explored in depth during the course/ in the textbook must be used.
Students are required to prepare the presentation in their chosen format: written speech, power point, canva, ... and send it to the lecturer by e-mail and upload it to the dedicated Teams area, from their institutional address, at least one week before the exam call.
The examination procedure is the same for attending and non-attending students. The purpose of the oral examination is to assess the knowledge and skills acquired in the course of the lectures and further developed through the adopted text.
The assessment will be based on the following parameters: knowledge and level of in-depth study of the content covered during the course (20% of the total overall assessment); clarity of presentation and use of the language specific to the discipline (30% of the total overall assessment); argumentative ability (30% of the total overall assessment); ability to analyze critically and to rework and apply the content and skills learned (20% of the total overall assessment).
