Obiettivi del corso

The workshop will provide future tourist guides with the fundamental Heritage Interpretation techniques, which are aimed at turning the one-way communicational model of the traditional guided visit, into a learning experience based on the interpretive/conversational approach. Students will learn how to design and deliver an interpretive product: guided tours, self-guided trails and written texts.

Handouts and materials (e.g.: extracts from Ludwig, Veverka, etc.) functional to the exercises will be distributed during class; further and more specific reading directions regarding recommended texts will be provided based on students' interests and needs

Metodi didattici
  • Lectures; analysis of case studies; group exercises where students will apply the knowledge and skills acquired. If possible, some classes will take place at the "Paolo and Ornella Ricca" School Museum of the University of Macerata.
Modalità di valutazione
  • The final examination test consists of designing, structuring and finalizing a written interpretive text focusing on a resource of the local cultural heritage. The assessment will be based on the following indicators: 1) correct application of acquired concepts and methodologies (up to 10/30); 2) communication skills in writing/presenting materials (up to 10/30); 3) critically reprocessing of acquired knowledge(up to 10/30).
