Michela Meschini is Associate Professor of Literary criticism and Comparative literature at the University of Macerata. She received her PhD from UCL (University College London), with a cross-disciplinary thesis on the relationship between literature and the visual arts, conducted under the supervision of Professor Anna Laura Lepschy. She has been visiting fellow at the Université de Montréal from 2009 to 2011 and has taught at the Macerata Program of University of Oregon from 2008 to 2014.

Her main research areas include cross-disciplinary studies, postmodern theory and fiction, Holocaust literature, transnational authors. She has taken part in a number of international conferences and has published extensively on journals and collective volumes. Her major works include: Antonio Tabucchi and the Visual Arts: Images, Visions, and Insights (Peter Lang 2018), Visioni postmoderne. Percorsi teorici e testuali ne Le città invisibili di Italo Calvino (eum 2018), Forme del narrare. Proposte critiche sulla letteratura contemporanea (co-edited with Carla Carotenuto, Aras 2019), Vivere la memoria. Edith Bruck tra letteratura, cinema, teatro (co-edited with Gabriella Romani, Peter Lang 2025). For Edith Bruck she has edited and introduced the poems collected in Versi vissuti (eum 2018), has authored the preface to Tempi (La nave di Teseo 2021) and Le dissonanze (Guanda 2025), and has written the afterword to the novel L'amica tedesca (La nave di Teseo, 2025).

Among her academic duties, she serves on the Teaching Board of the Doctoral Programme in Italian Studies at La Sapienza University of Rome. She is a member of the International Comparative Literature Association (ICLA), of the Associazione di teoria e storia comparata della letteratura (Compalit), of the Consulta di critica letteraria e letterature comparate, of the American Association for Italian Studies (AAIS), and sits in the scientific and editorial boards of the journals "Comparatismi", "Quaderni del '900", "Open Journal of Humanities".
